How Does Smart Glass Work?

Smart glass is fitted with a pane of liquid crystal privacy film between panes of laminated glass. When the smart glass is ‘off’ it is opaque, because the liquid crystal molecules are scattered and therefore prevent light from passing through. But when the smart glass is ‘on’, electricity causes the molecules to line up, allowing light to pass through the glass, making it transparent.

Smart glass is normally controlled via a simple light switch, although some systems can be controlled through:
