Anyone can clean a window but there are those special kinds of windows that are hard to clean. Aluminium windows are exactly that. In fact, they don’t allow themselves to be cleaned easily because they have been treated with a protective layer that makes it difficult to remove. So how do you go about cleaning these difficult-to-clean windows? The secret is in the right tools, detergents and some patience.
Don’t use any harsh products or chemicals: keep it simple
If your window frames are powder-coated, they are made to require little maintenance. The frames are specifically protected from scratches, abrasions, and permanent marks because of the quality of the powder coating.
Due to the special protection, avoid using any cleaning methods or chemicals that will affect the quality of your powder coating. Damage can result from using abrasive cleaning supplies or solutions that include bleach and other strong chemicals. Regular frame cleaning should stop difficult stains from developing in the first place. Most of the time, a light cleaning with warm water and mild soap will be enough.
Clean your windows from the inside
Delight your eyes with clean windows as you’re relaxing in your home, admiring the views by cleaning the windows from the inside. First, wipe the frames with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and mild soap. Avoid using heavy-duty cleaning products as this may damage the frames.
If you’re finding that some stains are stubborn, try using an ink rubber. However, don’t keep scrubbing away as this can damage the frame.
Make your windows sparkly from the outside
Dazzle passersby with your sparkly clean windows by cleaning them from the outside. First, you’d want to use a hose to remove any dirt or debris. Then scrub the frames with a mild soap and wipe with a damp cloth so the dirty water doesn’t dry on the window and stain it. Finally, use the hose again to rinse the windows. And there you have it! Clean, sparkly windows that you and others can enjoy.
