Top front door styles for your home

Choosing the right doors for your home can be a challenge. Not only do you have to consider your home’s design but also your personal style. This blog will take you through the most popular door styles and how to achieve an entrance to your home that you are proud of.

Think minimal

If your style is modern and minimal, think about reflecting this in your front door. Aluminium doors can give this clean line effect, and work well with contemporary glazing of a modern home.

A pop of colour

You may choose a more subtle pop of colour for your door such as pastel colours, or you might go bold with bright colours. It can make a brilliant contrast to the rest of your house when you introduce colour. There are lots of articles on ‘what your front door colour means about you.’ Many say a deep blue is a sign of intelligence. Behind a yellow door live the happiest. Some people believe that people with red front doors are the most passionate of people. And if you have a black door, it can be construed that you are mysterious! Which door colour do you think you will choose?

Sustainable and traditional doors

Having a timber door can not only be beautiful but it can be seen as a sustainability statement! It can also give a real traditional look to a property. If looked after, a timber door can last between 50 to 60 years. After that it can be up-cycled.

French Doors

French doors are a versatile, stylish option for almost any property. Use them to create a grand entrance to your home with the extra bonus of providing lots of natural light. They can also make smaller areas feel like they have a greater sense of space.

Go large!

If your home is north facing and doesn’t see much light, consider adding a large door with large windows to accompany it. This will make your home more inviting and naturally brighten it up, also giving the illusion of more space.
